As vice president, corporate controller, Jennifer Murphy’s responsibilities include the oversight and management of Crosland’s daily accounting operations including the hiring, training and development of the accounting team, supervisory oversight of the divisional finance managers, cash management and the coordination of audit procedures. Jennifer is accountable for establishing policies and procedures to safeguard assets of the company and to produce, present and explain accurate accounting and financial data on a timely basis. In addition to this role, she works closely with the chief financial officer to carefully prepare financial data that is presented to the board of directors. Prior to joining Crosland, Jennifer was employed with Trigen-Biopower, Inc., a subsidiary of Trigen Energy Corporation. Jennifer was responsible for all accounting, human resources, benefits and risk management functions for the company. Upon graduation, Jennifer began her career with Paramount Parks, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina. A subsidiary of Viacom International, Inc., Paramount Parks operates five theme parks in the United States and Canada. As vice president and corporate controller, Jennifer was responsible for all corporate and local accounting operations, which included treasury management, consolidation and planning of annual budget, annual external audit and financial statements.
