Talbots and New Eateries Join Village Area of Crosland’s Shops at Greenridge Center’s Village Design and Outdoor Features Introduce Distinct Shopping Experience for GreenvilleGreenville, S.C., Jan. 20, 2005 – The Shops at
Greenridge, a 600,000-square-foot regional center being developed by Crosland,
one of the Southeast’s leading real estate firms, has signed a lease with
Talbots, a leading national specialty retailer of women’s classic apparel.
Talbots will be a primary tenant in Greenridge’s village area, a distinct
central shopping district within Greenridge featuring specialty shops and
restaurants. Joining Talbots in the village area are Panera Bread and
three tenants making their Greenville debut: Brixx Wood-Fired Pizza, Cold Stone
Creamery and Yankee Candle.
Talbots will be located next to Barnes & Noble and will
occupy 10,527 square feet of the 100,000-square-foot central shopping district,
which is designed with wide pedestrian pathways, sitting areas and a landscaped
plaza, ideal for outdoor dining and entertainment. The store will
incorporate Talbots Misses, Petites and Woman, all under one roof.
“We are delighted to be opening three stores at The Shops
at Greenridge, a setting that gives us the opportunity to provide our customers
with a wonderful shopping environment featuring a strong mix of specialty
retailers and restaurants,” said Phil Tracey, senior public relations specialist
for Talbots.
Known for its hand-crafted pizzas cooked in a wood-burning
oven, Brixx will make its Greenville debut in a 3,504-square-foot restaurant
that will lead directly into the plaza area of the village. This heavily
landscaped area will provide convenient outdoor dining spaces for both Brixx as
well as Panera Bread, which will occupy 5,725 square feet of space on the other
side of the plaza. Next door to Brixx, a 1,351-square-foot Cold Stone
Creamery ice cream store will feature a wide assortment of traditional and
exotic ice cream cakes and flavors, including apple pie, cheesecake and mint
chocolate chip. The plaza’s centerpiece feature – a six-foot-tall
cascading fountain – will be an ideal gathering place for shoppers and diners
throughout the day and during the evening, when it will be illuminated by soft
lights.
Located at the end of a row of specialty shops and
restaurants that flank the fountain area, the 1,606-square-foot Yankee Candle
store will feature a variety of candles in many different scents, in addition to
candle accessories, gift sets, and other home fragrance collectibles.
“The village component creates a shopping, dining and
entertainment oasis of sorts, similar to what you would see in a lifestyle
center, which is a completely new concept for this market,” said Charles Thrift,
leasing associate with Crosland.
Construction is underway on the village area, which is
scheduled to be complete late this summer.
The center’s 165,700-square-foot Lowe’s is nearing
completion, while work is underway on the other junior anchors, which include
Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, OfficeMax,
PETsMART, Ross Stores and Total Wine & More.
