Steve Flanagan to Lead Florida Land Acquisition and Development for Crosland

Orlando, FL- April, 2005 – Crosland, Inc., one of the Southeast’s leading real estate companies, has announced that Stephen H. Flanagan joins Crosland’s Florida Division as senior vice president of acquisitions and development.

A veteran developer and real estate transaction professional, Flanagan joins Crosland’s executive team with more than three decades of experience, much of it in Central Florida. As senior vice president of acquisitions and development, he locates and arranges the acquisition of sites for development, manages due diligence/entitlement process. Working closely with Crosland’s Florida Division President Perry Reader, Flanagan advances the company’s strategic plan for community development and mixed-use projects in Florida.

“Steve’s intrinsic knowledge of Florida’s real estate market and experience in all aspects of the development process are invaluable assets as Crosland seeks out new opportunities for residential, multi-family and retail growth,” says Perry Reader, president of Crosland’s Florida Division.

Since 1988, Steve has negotiated more than $200 million in land and investment property transactions, and is credited with facilitating some of Central Florida’s most significant developments including Colonial Town Park in Lake Mary, Altamonte Gateway, and a 5,000-acre Village in Horizons West. He also served as a consultant to the original Baldwin Park developer.

Steve began his career in real estate investment with Aetna Realty Investors in 1967 and later moved into multi-family development with Oxford Development. In 1988, he formed Flanagan Property Company, a full service brokerage and consulting company that combined with Grover Bryan Realty in 1994 to form the Orlando office of The Galbreath Company. Instrumental in the opening of Grubb & Ellis’ Orlando office in 1998, Steve became one of the company’s leading producers as senior vice president of land and investment services. Joining Charles Wayne Properties in 2002, Steve shifted his focus to the homebuilding industry, assisting production builders such as D.R. Horton Homes, Pulte Homes, David Weekley Homes, and Cambridge Homes in the acquisition of land in Metro Orlando.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Husson College in Bangor, Maine and attended the University of Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut for graduate study in Economics and Finance.

Steve is an active member of the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando, a trustee of its Political Action Committee and past chairman of its Developers Council. He is also active in the Urban Land Institute and a serves as a member of the Executive Committee of its Orlando District Council. A licensed Florida real estate broker, Steve served from 1996-2000 as a founding director of the Central Florida Commercial Real Estate Society.
