|  |  | Nelson Joins Crosland as Development Associate for Residential DivisionCharlotte, N.C., July 13, 2007 – Crosland LLC, one of the region’s leading real estate companies, announced that Dionne Nelson has joined the company’s residential division as development associate.
Focusing on the affordable housing market, Nelson will be responsible for executing development activities from conceptualization through construction. Additional responsibilities include controlling and acquiring sites, conducting feasibility studies, retaining and managing design professionals, securing project financing, overseeing regulatory measures and supervision of general contractor activities.
"We are pleased to have Dionne join our team,” said Jud Little, president of Crosland’s apartment division. “Her in-depth knowledge of finance and her strategic approach to real estate will complement our division as she leads the development of new multifamily projects."
With more than ten years of experience, Nelson is a seasoned professional with experience in public and private investment, strategy development and operational assessment. Prior to joining Crosland, she managed public and private investments at NewSchools Venture Fund in Boston and Earnest Partners in Atlanta.
She began her career in financial services as an investment banking analyst in corporate finance at Salomon Brothers in New York and also worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in the Chicago and Atlanta offices.
Dionne holds a BA degree in economics from Spelman College and a MBA from Harvard University. Her affiliations include the Charlotte Apartment Association and the Urban Land Institute. She is a licensed real estate broker in Georgia.
