Whitson Joins Crosland as VP of Operations for Residential Division

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 4, 2008 – Crosland LLC, one of the Southeast’s leading real estate companies, has added Tracey L. Whitson as vice president of operations for the company’s residential division.

Whitson will oversee Crosland’s director of affordable housing property management, four regional property managers and its operations support manager, who in turn oversee 130 onsite associates at Crosland’s apartment and condominium properties. Crosland’s management portfolio includes 4,000 market-rate residences and 1,000 affordable-housing units.

Her hire comes at a time of significant growth for Crosland, which has 1,500 new units under construction in North Carolina, Florida and Tennessee.

“Crosland’s portfolio is more diverse than most, so when you combine that with our growth rate, we needed a veteran with a significant breadth of knowledge to oversee strategic planning, ensure quality control and stay ahead of our pipeline,” said David Ravin, president of Crosland’s residential division. “Tracey brings incredible experience in tracking operations, managing expenses and finding new ways to maximize revenue. Her leadership will help our team collectively capture lessons learned and apply efficiencies across our portfolio.”

Whitson has been involved with multifamily property operations since 1991. She was vice president of operations for Archstone-Smith in Alexandria, Va., where she worked for nine years, overseeing four regional managers and managing a portfolio of 20 properties and 8,500 units. Earlier she managed individual properties for Churchill Forge Properties in Boston and for Love Properties in Atlanta.

She has earned the certified apartment manager designation from the National Apartment Association and holds a North Carolina real estate license.
